Using Email
Select your operating system and email program and follow the instructions. After you setup your Email, you can test it by sending an Email to yourself.


Macintosh
Netscape 4.04 Setup:

  1. In Netscape, select the menu Edit -> Preferences.
  2. From the left side, select Mail & Newsgroups -> IdentitySelect Mail & Newsgroups -> Mail Servers.
  3. In the POP Server box, type in pop3.gloryworks.com.
  4. In the Outgoing (SMTP) mail server box, type in smtp.gloryworks.com. Type in your GW username in the box mail server user name.
  5. From the left sidebar select Advanced -> Proxies. You will also need to setup the proxy settings in the browser you use.
  6. Select the Automatic proxy configuration box, and type in proxy.gloryworks.com:8080
  7. Click on OK.
Netscape 4.6 Setup:
  1. Start Netscape from your hard drive -> Netscape Communicator 4.6 Folder -> Netscape Communicator (It comes on our setup CD - if it is not here, start it from the directory where you installed it on your hard drive).
  2. If your computer tries to dial GloryWorks just press cancel. Go to the menu Edit -> Preferences.
  3. From the left side select Mail & Newsgroups -> Identity Fill in the appropriate information. Your Email address will be (your username@gloryworks.com)
  4. Select Mail & Newsgroups -> Mail Servers.
  5. Click on Add. In the POP Server box, type in pop3.gloryworks.com in the User name box, type in your user name that you received from GloryWorks for your account. Click on OK.
  6. In the Outgoing (SMTP) mail server box, type in smtp.gloryworks.com.
  7. From the left sidebar select Advanced -> Proxies. You will also need to setup the proxy settings in the browser you use.
  8. Select the Automatic proxy configuration box, and type in proxy.gloryworks.com:8080
  9. Click on OK.
MS Outlook Express for Mac Setup:
  1. Double click on Outlook Express.
  2. Go to Tools and select Accounts.
  3. Select New.
  4. Enter the Display name, i.e. Joe Smith.
  5. Use the right arrow to continue (should be checked: "I already have an e-mail address that I would like to use").
    Enter your username@gloryworks.com
  6. Use the right arrow to continue.
    Incoming mail server is a POP
    Incoming mail is: pop3.gloryworks.com
    Outgoing mail is: smtp.gloryworks.com
  7. Use the right arrow to continue.
    Enter the Account ID and Password
  8. Use the right arrow to continue.
    Give this an e-mail account name, i.e. GloryWorks.
  9. Finish
You will also need to setup the
proxy settings in the browser you use.

Windows 95/98
Netscape Messenger 4.xx Setup

  1. Click on Edit / Preferences at the top menu bar.
  2. Select the Mail and News Category.
    Change all the information in this category to your information at GloryWorks.
    Things to know:
    SMTP server = smtp.gloryworks.com
    POP3 server = pop3.gloryworks.com
    Your POP server user name is the same user name you use to log into GloryWorks Internet Access.
You will also need to setup the proxy settings in the browser you use.

MS Outlook Express for PC Setup

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Select Tools / Accounts at the top menu bar.
  3. Click on Add / Mail...
  4. Type in your Real Name, and click Next.
  5. Type your Email address youraccount@gloryworks.com (no quotes), and click Next.
  6. Type in the POP3 server pop3.gloryworks.com and then the SMTP server smtp.gloryworks.com, and click Next.
  7. Type in your GloryWorks login name and password, and click Next.
    (Note: If you want to be prompted for your password every time you open Outlook Express, then don't enter it here).
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select Connect using my phone line, and press Next.
  10. Select Use an Existing Dial-up Networking Connection and click on GloryWorks, then Next.
  11. Click Finish.
You will also need to setup the proxy settings in the browser you use.
